Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Central London
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 + package (DOE)

An established and growing main contractor specialising in high-end residential refurbishment and bespoke construction projects across Prime Central London is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The business delivers a range of complex cut & carve refurbishments, luxury residential developments, and bespoke fit-out schemes for private clients, developers, and design-led teams. Projects are typically located across Central and South West London and range from £1m-£20m+ in value.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS looking to develop within a supportive and well-regarded contractor, working closely alongside experienced Senior Surveyors and Commercial Managers on technically challenging, design-led projects.
Role Responsibilities - Assisting with procurement of subcontract packages
- Preparing tender enquiries and analysing subcontract returns
- Supporting with cost reporting and CVRs
- Assisting with valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Managing subcontractor payments and account administration
- Supporting commercial management of live projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Assisting with forecasting and budget tracking
- Liaising with site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
Candidate Requirements - 1-4 years' Quantity Surveying experience within construction
- Previous experience with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor
- Exposure to refurbishment, fit-out, residential, or high-end projects beneficial
- Good understanding of construction processes and commercial procedures
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Degree qualified or working towards a Quantity Surveying qualification preferred
